In a series of Hashgocha Protis, Rabbi Menachem & Mrs. Chaya Cadaner, and their children end up in New Haven, CT.

While working on establishing the first permanent Chabad house in Cuba, they kept receiving answers from the Rebbe to work in education of American Youth (in the Rebbe’s words: “especially that he is aware of the blowing winds in the streets for American Youth”).

After finally reaching the final steps to obtain a Visa to live in Cuba, they sit to write to the Rebbe that they are officially ready to move to Cuba.

    But…

    The Rebbe answers…

“I am pleased with your work with the community and especially with the education of the youth in the United States” — this letter was written to an individual in New Haven, CT!

After speaking it over with their mashpia (Torah mentor), it became clear that their shlichus is with the youth of Anash in New Haven, leaving their opportunity as Head Shluchim of Cuba behind.

Menachem & Chaya both had years of experience in the field of Chinuch, which would lend to the vision the Rebbe was guiding them to.

Menachem started working with Lubavitch youth as the learning teacher for what was known as the ‘on fire’ learning class that non members wanted to join too! He spent his yeshiva shlichus years under Rabbi Y. Lustig at Yeshivas Beis Dovid Shlomo New Haven, where as a student he was one of the first that finished the entire Shas. From there, he got smicha in 770 while giving a popular Moshiach Shiur weekly in 770 (which now continues in New Haven weekly! Recordings here). Later on he became mashpia and mechanech in Yeshivos, both in the Yeshiva Ketana and Zal of New Haven, as well as teaching in Southern CT Hebrew Academy and the Cheder of New Haven, while pursuing Rabbanus under the Rabbinate of the Israeli government Heichal Shlomo, trained by Rabbi S. Z. Kessler, of New Haven.

Chaya grew up on Shlichus in Beverly Hills, California focusing on public school youth and being mivtzoyim head in both high school and seminary. After studying Child Psychology and becoming a certified life coach, Chaya became principal of the largest Hebrew School in Beverly Hills at the time. At the same time, Chaya began to shift her focus on Lubavitch Youth starting in Bais Chaya Mushka Los Angeles as Bnos Chabad Head for 3 years, and then working for Tzivos Hashem Headquarters under Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum for 10 years.

Now they need to take all that experience Hashem entrusted them with and use it to think a lot bigger!

First things first- the Cadaners met with the Administration of the local Mosdos (which are BH amazing role models for mosdos around the world!), and outside professionals to gain guidance on what the youth here need most.

And this is where the first-ever home for our Own Youth began! A homey space with a warm family vibe, starting from the youngest of ages!

    Our goal?

Step 1: Rather than opening a facility for youth at risk, our goal is to create “preventive medicine” with a space for wholesome healthy outlets that support the growth of each child after school hours. All in a warm homey space that girls and boys (during separate hours) know they can always come to, to chill, grow, ask, a safe space where they are embraced. Spiced with the perfect amount of fun and the most up-to-date equipment to make sure the children know that yiddishkeit is the only party in town and what these paraphernalia were all meant to be used for! 🙂

Step 2: We truly believe that because the unique mission of our generation is to greet Moshiach, the youth are naturally excited about being given the tools to fulfill our generation’s purpose, and already start living in a way appropriate for the times of Moshiach. At Moshiach Youth, the emphasis is on training the children to open up their own eyes to see how the process of Moshiach has already started in the world, and to be active leaders in spreading this reality to the rest of the world. Through the various different weekly programs, such as the Ahavas Yisroel Chesed Club which focuses on Achdus and Ahavas Yisroel within the girl’s own peers in the community and then spreading that love to a new mother by cooking her a hot dinner, and then taking it to the streets with mivtzoyim to spread yiddishkeit to their sisters around the world (using our very own Moshiach Youth Army Bus!).- #AhavasChinamBecauseWe’reInMoshiachTimes.

These are the elite soldiers of Hashem’s army – Tzivos Hashem. Nothing will stop them from bringing Moshiach. They just need the right platform. The youth are passionate, emesdik and unstoppable. There’s a reason they were the first to recognize Hashem by geulas mitzrayim during krias yam suf. They’re going to lead the way in our generation too. It’s happening in our generation and we are all so lucky to be connected to these children- the heroes of our generation – the ones who will finally win and make a final revolution against the yetzer hora and bring Moshiach, showing Hashem is the true One in charge and behind everything we see in this world.

    Our vision?

To have a Moshiach Youth home in every community around the world!
