Chilean mining mogul and philanthropist Leonardo Farkas, who recently sponsored multiple Sifrei Torah in a historic pre-Kinus event, is now the third most popular person in the Presidential race to replace current Chilean President Michelle Bachelet.

Leonardo’s strong showing in recent polls is significant, considering his not having officially declared his candidacy, or making known an intention to run. In 2009, Leonardo briefly flirted with making the run, but soon decided against it.

In Chile, the President is one of the most powerful political positions. The election is still two years away.
