The cemetery is a notable site for Jewish heritage, being the final resting place of several esteemed Tanaim. Among those buried there are R’ Elazar ben Aroch, R’ Elazar Ben Azarya, R’ Shimon ben Nesanel, Rebbi Yossi Hakohen, R’ Rabbi Azarya.
