When Chabad of Kazakhstan set out to raise an ambitious $500,000 for their annual Chof Av campaign, they had no idea that they would end up with an excess of $850,000 (!) to support their Shlichus in seven Kazakh cities from over 3,000 donors from across the globe.
The campaign was successfully operated by Shloimy Greenwald and Bracha Toreneheim, both of Crown Heights.
“It is exciting to see how thousands of donors mobilized for the Jews of Kazakhstan, the state of exile of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak, the Rebbe’s father”, said Senior Shliach and Chief Rabbi Yeshiva Elazar Cohen, “I thank all the donors, the volunteers who worked days and nights, and the professional staff who managed everything with a level hand. We see every donor as a true partner in the shlichus, started 77 years ago by Reb Levik himself.
We are committed to reaching every Jewish soul in every remote city and village in the country. I hope that thanks to the wonderful unity we will finally merit to see Moshiach right away!”
The fundraising site is still open for donations, the names of all donors will be mentioned on the Ohel of R’ Levi Yitzchak.
The raffle for a double flight ticket to the Holy Tent in Almaty will be held with Hashem’s help Tuesday, 25 Menachem Av.
