Rabbi Yanky Super, a Lubavitcher chossid and Hatzalah volunteer from Sydney, Australia, who was critically wounded while responding to the Chanukah terror attack at Bondi Beach last year, met this week with King Charles III.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, which brought together leaders of 56 Commonwealth nations. Rabbi Super attended the summit representing the Australian Jewish community and Jewish communities throughout the Commonwealth.

Rabbi Super, who serves as co-director of the Nitzutz Jewish community organization, attended the gathering together with his brother, Rabbi Avromy Super, a rabbi serving the Jewish community of the Eastern Caribbean.

During the summit, Rabbi Super also met with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and introduced him to his brother, who spoke with the prime minister about his work building Jewish life throughout the Caribbean. Other officials he met included Bahamas Prime Minister Philip Davis and British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband.

The royal meeting comes less than a year after Rabbi Super was shot while volunteering as a first responder at Chabad’s Chanukah celebration at Bondi Beach, where 15 kedoshim were murdered hy”d in a horrific antisemitic terror attack.
