    At the Bukharian Jewish Center (BJCC) in Queens, the Rabbonim of the Bukharian community in the United States gathered, under the presidency of Rabbi Levi Leviev, along with his son, Rabbi Yehoshua, his daughter, Hagit, and his son-in-law, Gabriel Sofiev.

    The guest of honor was Rabbi Peretz Steinberg, Rabbi Emeritus of Young Israel of Queens Valley, who was joined by the entire Queens Beis Din, Bukharian Rabbonim, including the Rebbe’s Shluchim to the Bukharian community, Rabbis Zalman Zavlonov, Levits Volovik, Shmuel Kogan, Daniel Zavlonov, Asher Vaknin, Emanuel Shimonov, David Ariev, David Shoshan, and the CEO of the Bukharian Jewish Congress, Yehuda Blau.

    There, Rabbi Levi Leviev announced the establishment of a new fund to support Jewish education for public school children in the United States, worth $50 million per year.

    After the conference, the participants laid the cornerstone for the construction of a large new educational and community campus in Queens that will include a girls’ high school, a Shul, and a Mikvah.
