It was a violent night in the city of Lod. At some point during the night Rabbi Avrohom Hazan, shliach to the Russian-speaking community, heard the heart-wrenching news, the Chabad House fell victim to the rioting that overtook the city.

“Shaare Aliyah Chabad Center” has provided a home for Lod’s Russian-speaking Jews for decades.

Throughout the years many of the 20,000 Russian emigres in the city and its surrounding neighborhoods have stepped foot into the Chabad house.

“Shaare Aliyah” holds a variety of activities – Shabbos and holiday dinners, a soup kitchen for the needy and disabled, assitance for all those who need it, and much more.

Jews in Eretz Yisroel and around the world were shocked to hear about the defilement of the synagogue by Arab rioters. The congregants and community members are in absolute disbelief at the destruction done to their beloved spiritual home.

Rabbi Hazan has launched a Charidy campaign to help cover the costs of renovating the synagogue and erase the disgrace, returning the grandeur and beauty to their beloved shul.
