In preparation for Rosh Hashanah, singer and songwriter Yisrael Jerufi released an emotional song, titled “Abba.”
He wrote and composed the song while grappling with the profound pain of his daughter Hadari OBM, who passed away at the age of 8 from a serious illness. The song was initially put away, and Yisrael struggled to return to it and record it.
The difficult events we experienced over the past year, including the terrible war that began on Simchas Torah and the sudden passing of Yisrael’s father, reignited his desire to record the touching song so that we could all cry out and pray together to our Father in Heaven for the Geulah.
The delicate arrangement and musical production were entrusted to arranger Menachem Munis, who succeeded in capturing the precise atmosphere that Yisrael envisioned.
“I wrote and composed the song while Hadari was lying in the hospital,” Jerufi shares. “This song just burst from my heart. I would return home at night from the hospital, and due to the pain and tears, I couldn’t finish the words. I thank Hashem that I was able to express my pain and prayer through this song and hope that you all feel the cry within it.”
