A Miracle of Kindness: Jewish Student’s Tribute to Bibas Family with Tefillin
Adam Bangles, a Jewish law student at Seton Hall University in New Jersey, reached out to Rabbi Avraham Minsky, a Chabad Shliach, seeking guidance on how to honor the family. “Rabbi, is there a prayer I can say for the Bibas family?” he asked • Full Story
In response, Rabbi Minsky suggested a meaningful and unique way to pay tribute: the mitzvah of tefillin. “These two pure young boys will never reach Bar Mitzvah and lay tefillin. How about you start putting on tefillin in their memory?” he proposed.
Adam eagerly agreed and asked if the rabbi could provide him with a pair of tefillin and teach him how to use them. Miraculously, just moments later, a kind individual approached Rabbi Minsky, offering to donate a pair of tefillin in memory of the Bibas family.
“Do you know anyone who needs tefillin?” the man asked. Rabbi Minsky was astounded by the timing and immediately gave Adam the tefillin that had been donated.
In a heartfelt message, Rabbi Minsky wrote, “We will continue to bring light into this world in memory of the Bibas brothers HY”D. Though we have been deeply wounded, we will live on stronger than our enemies, as we always have throughout history. Am Yisrael Chai”.
