    The birthday of Reb Menachem Mendel the youngest son of the Rebbe Maharash is 6 Adar, 5627 -1867.
    Reb Menachem Mendel was born within the year of the passing of the Tzemach Tzedek, and was named after him.

    He was very helpful to his brother the Rebbe Rashab in his community work, he sent him to the capital a few times to work with the government to help the Yidden in Russia.

    The Rebbe related a story about Reb Menachem Mendel:
    “The Rebbe Rashab’s brother, named after the Tzemach Tzedek translated the Tanya into Russian. he sent the transition to a very knowledgeable person – non Jewish. He was very impressed from the Tanya”.

    Because of his financial condition, he left Russia and moved to Paris, France.
    In the year 5700, the Frierdiker Rebbe send telegram to the Rebbe: our Uncle Mendel needs help. If possible, I’m asking you to send him help. His address…

    Reb Menachem Mendel passed away in 5702.
    The Rebbe was very involved in trying to get him to be buried in Eretz Yisroel:
    “Regarding my uncle, the brother of the Rebbe Rashab, Reb Menachem Mendel A”H. The exact date of his passing I do not know. but it was the main city of the island Corsica, and it was when the Nazis Yimach Shimam were controlling France. he is buried somewhere in the cemetery there. With the name Menachem Mendel. I’m sure there are offices like the one in Paris that with this information they can try to find his exact spot.”
    In the year 5716 he was brought up to Eretz Yisroel, and according to the Rebbe’s instruction, he was buried in Tzfas.
    According to an individual that was involved in the burial, Reb Menachem Mendel’s body was complete although 15 years past since his Histalkus.
