Ba’al Menagen Rabbi Menachem Amar released a single of an authentic and precise rendition of the lively Niggun Simcha, that Reb Moshe Zhebiner frequently sang.

This niggun appears twice in the Sefer Hanigunim (in the first section as Niggun 140, and in the second section as Niggun 284). It is characterized by a rolling movement of Simcha, illustrating the dance and celebration of Chassidim in a state of pure happiness.

Reb Moshe Zhebiner was a renowned Mashpia at Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva in Lubavitch, founded by the Rebbe Rashab. Chassidim would say about Reb Moshe that despite his personal suffering, his face was always lit with joy.

“This is expressed in this vibrant and joyous niggun. By Divine Providence, this niggun also perfectly suits the spirit of these days, the days of Purim 5785,” Rabbi Amar told Chabadinfo. “We are all in the shadow of the great war that has yet to end. Israel is surrounded by enemies rising against it from all sides. Our hearts ache and worry for the safety of the hostages still languishing in Gaza, and our hope remains strong for the absolute defeat of the vile terrorists. Out of the darkness, the song and the Chassidic niggun break forth with full strength and Simcha.”

The niggun is sung in his delicate and soulful voice by Rabbi Amar himself, accompanied in a mix and violin performance by the Chassidic musician Reb Mordechai Brotzky, with Menachem Monis playing the bouzouki. The arrangement was produced by Oved Monis.

The Ga’agouim project expresses gratitude to Reb Chaim Weiss for his professional guidance and support and is confident that, like the dozens of niggunim that preceded it, this niggun will soon be sung by many across all communities, drawn to its authentic and pure melody.
