During the month of Tishrei, around ten years ago, the legendary Chassidic musician R’ Avi Piamenta, A”H, was sitting with a few bochurim and yungeleit in 770. Together, they began working on lyrics for a new niggun inspired by the Rebbe’s words about the joy of Simchas Beis HaShoeivah.
R’ Avi composed an early version orally and sang it with the group.
Two years ago, in Tishrei, he revisited the project and once again reached out to several yungeleit to refine the lyrics and details.
He recorded an initial version and shared it with Rabbi Asaf Fromer, who had shown interest in the song. The rare recording is now being shared with the public thanks to his courtesy.
For reasons unknown, R’ Avi never released the song publicly or produced an official music video.
May the publicizing of this heartfelt recording—which so deeply reflects his spirit and life—serve as an aliyah for his neshama.
