Live at 2:30 PM ET: the Western Wall Heritage Foundation will hold a live broadcast for the recitation of the Eicha and the recitation of Kinos at the Kosel • Full Story, Watch Live
On Wednesday evening, the 9th of Av, 5783 (July 26, 2023), the Western Wall Heritage Foundation will hold a live broadcast starting at 21:30 (Israel time) for the recitation of the Eicha and the recitation of Kinos.
The Western Wall Heritage Foundation is fully prepared for Tisha B’Av, the day on which all of Israel mourns the destruction of the two Temples – the First Temple and the Second Temple. Thousands of visitors and worshipers are expected to gather at the Western Wall, the remnant of the Temple, to read the Book of Lamentations and recite elegies near the site of the destruction while sitting on the floor.
As part of the preparations, rescue forces will be stationed throughout the day in the Western Wall area to provide assistance to those in need. Please note that private vehicles are not allowed in the Old City, and visitors are encouraged to use public transportation. Additionally, the Western Wall Heritage Foundation kindly requests the public to follow the instructions of the Israel Police and the ushers.
The preparations by the Western Wall Heritage Foundation will continue until the late hours of the night (approximately 2 AM) when Chassidic Rebbes, Rabbis, and Torah scholars gather for the traditional Kiddush Levanah (Sanctification of the Moon) ceremony, which takes place after the end of Tisha B’Av.
