As the Vaad Ha’Kinus, under the auspices of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, is busy preparing for the international Kinus Ha’Shluchim 5780 that will begin next week, a big announcement regarding the banquet has just been released.

As every year, the official opening of the Kinus is with the farbrengen of the Rebbe MH”M on Shabbos Mevorchim Kislev.

On Motzoei Shabbos, as always, there will be a festive banquet which will be attended by more than 1,000 Shluchim and guests, led by the Rabbonim of the community, members of the Badatz. The Shluchim will be strengthened in the only remaining Shlichus which is to prepare the world to welcome Moshiach Tzidkeinu.

In previous years, with the blessed increase of the number of Shluchim, the large Zal of 770 has become too small. Despite the tables being crowded together, many people remained without a place to sit, even when every possible space was used, including the area under the women’s section.

A discussion was held among the members of the Vaad Ha’Kinus about holding the banquet in a different hall, which would be roomy enough for all, or to remain in 770 with the lack of space and crowding. In the end, it was decided to ask the Rebbe. The answer in the Igros Kodesh left no room for doubt. The letter opened to was addressed to participants of a large gathering of Rabbonim and the Rebbe blessed them:

“It is the responsibility of every Rov, his obligation and privilege, to inform them of a true and complete Judaism without compromises, as it states at the beginning of Shulchan Aruch – not to be ashamed by those who mock. They also should not be intimidated by the famous claim that the entire congregation is holy and there shouldn’t be divisions made between one movement in the religion and another.”

“May your Kinus merit and be successful in inspiring, strengthening and fortifying the members of Igud and all the Rabbonim who, despite pressure from without and within, will fulfill the aforementioned role of a Rov in its entirety. With respect and blessings for success in the holy work to strengthen the Torah of truth, the truth of Hashem forever, and to disseminate it.”

In another letter, the Rebbe refers to a change in plans with a response of encouragement and consent.

Consequently, the banquet this year will take place in the beautiful Razag hall in Crown Heights, ‘kan tziva Hashem es ha’bracha’. Tremendous work is being put into producing the banquet which will be a moving, impressive event for all participants.

Shluchim who haven’t registered are request to quickly do so, so the Vaad can prepare accordingly.

Note: Early online registration is for the nominal sum of $36. Registration at the Kinus will be $50. Please register now!

Likewise, if a Shliach would like to bring a mekurav or gvir to the banquet, the Shliach needs to register him on the Kinus website (the cost is $100). Mekuravim and gvirim will not be allowed entry without prior registration and payment.
