    Springfield: Shluchim Honored Guests at IL Governor’s ‘Seder Celebration’

    Monday evening, the Governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, together with the First Lady, MK Pritzker, hosted a Seder Celebration in the Governor’s Mansion, in Springfield, Illinois. The annual Seder Celebration with the Illinois governor is a tradition going back many years.     Monday evening, the Governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, together with the First Lady, MK Pritzker, hosted a Seder Celebration in the Governor’s Mansion, in Springfield, Illinois. The annual Seder Celebration with the Illinois governor is a tradition going back many years.

    There were eighty guests who were invited to participate in this festive event, including the Illinois Legislature’s Jewish caucus from the senate and house of representatives, gubernatorial employees, Rabbis and friends from around the state.

    Also in attendance was Yinam Cohen, Consul General of Israel to the Midwest, Speaker of the House Emmanuel Welch, Senate President Don Harmon, along with many other dignitaries.

    The Shluchim to Springfield, Rabbi Mendy and Sara Turen, were amongst the Governor’s honored guests.

    After thanking Rabbi and Mrs. Turen for participating, Governor Pritzker conveyed; “we were very excited that after two years of not being able to hold the Seder Celebration, we are able to all gather here tonight. We hope to have many more celebrations in the future.”

    The food was all kosher under the supervision of CRC of Chicago, and catered by Zelda’s Catering from Skokie.
