A special story took place Thursday night, at the Bar Mitzvah celebration for Rabbi Zalman Notik’s youngest son.

When Reb Zalman Notik was two years old, on the same day they immigrated to Eretz Yisroel from Russia. His dear mother had cooked a large pot of food for the family – it was Erev Shavuos.
Unfortunately, his aunt was holding the hot pot and it accidentally spilled on Reb Zalman and he got a serious burn. R’ Zalman was hospitalized for a long time in the hospital and was unconscious for four months.
The family asked for a Bracha from the Rebbe for his recovery, and the one who actually turned to the Rebbe to ask for the Bracha was Rabbi Junik, a relative of their family who lived in Canada.
In response to the request for the Bracha, the Rebbe gave a $10 Canadian bill to Rabbi Junik, to pass on to his relatives – the Notik family – for their son Zalman.
Rabbi Junik wrote on the note: “From the Rebbe. Notik” – for him to know who the bill is for.
For many years, the Notik family knew about the Rebbe’s Bracha for Reb Zalman’s healing and the bill he had been sent. But they never actually received the bil.
The bill disappeared.

Forty-eight years have passed since then. Last week, on the night of Nitel, Rabbi Junik’s son from Canada, took advantage of the evening to get things done in the house.
Suddenly he finds the lost bill from 48 years ago. It is written on it: From the Rebbe. Notik.
With great excitement, he hastened to call Eretz Yisroel, to Rabbi David Aharon Notik of Tzfas, Zalman’s brother, to tell him about the discovery.
It was especially exciting now, since currently Reb Zalman Notik is in need of a Refuah Shleima, may HaShem give him a full recovery very soon!
In the midst of his son’s bar mitzvah, and on the evening he entered his 50th birthday, Rabbi Notik received the bill that the Rebbe had prepared for him 48 years ago – for complete medical care.
