The Mesivta of Postville, Iowa, is steadily growing, and will be opening a Zal next year for the first time, to accommodate the influx of students.
“The need for a new Zal in the United States is no secret. Postville is choosing to do this being that the Bochurim are very happy here and we have had many requests for a Zal each year. This year, we finally have the plans to make this a reality,” says Rabbi Gavriel Levin, the Mashpia and Mashgiach of the Yeshiva.
The Rosh Yeshiva of the new Zal will be Rabbi Shmuely Benshimon who has already been teaching for numerous years and is an experienced Mechanech.
The Yeshiva plans on being a Chassidishe Yeshiva, with a strong Chassidishe atmosphere.
The Zal will focus strongly on Girsa, being that many Bochurim tend to get lost by the Iyun learning.
The Seder Iyun will still be in place, however, the primary focus will be on learning Gemarah, with Rashi and Tosfos.
