In response to the video, a Hazmanah (summons) letter was sent to Rabbi Wolf of Chicago, in which seven of the eight Crown Heights Sofrim are calling Rabbi Wolf to a Din Torah claiming he has slandered them and caused them loss of money.

In the Hazmanah letter, written on the stationary of “Vaad Rabbonim Haklali”, the following names are listed as claimants: Rabbi Moshe Klein, Rabbi Gad Sebag, Rabbi Eliezer Shapira, Rabbi Yosef Liran, Rabbi Yitzchak Mishulovin, Rabbi Dovid Rimler and Rabbi Mendel Vogel.

However, not all the parties listed in the Hazmanah (summons) confirmed that they’ve agreed to participate in the case. For example, Rabbi Yitzchak Mishulovin of Merkaz Stam confirmed to ChabadInfo.com that he never agreed to participate as a Tove’a (claimant) in the putative Din Torah of Vaad Rabbonim Haklali, despite being included in that Bais Din’s list.

Rabbi Mishulovin clarified, however, that his unwillingness to participate as a Tove’a (claimant) should not be interpreted as approval of Rabbi Wolf’s conclusions or methods.

to Rabbi Wolf… it is clear that the Sofrim need to change their habits , and the market for $30 mezuzos needs to end!

    3. Yossi

Why are they calling him to vaad rabbonei lubavitch – which is made up of virulent “anti”-rabbonim?
Why not the crown heights Beis din?

    4. Chananya wechter

      Who is vaad rabonai lubavitch?

Why doesn’t wolf respond? It would seem he would be happy to come like he says he has rabbonim backing him

    6. Moshe

Zabla would be the best approach in my estimation.

This is open and shut. If the mezzuzahs are kosher, then prove it. If not, then don’t say they are – just because… is selling them, and he is related to….and…..plus……..?!
Does it make a difference who is selling the mezzuzah if it’s not kosher?

    8. GOING FORWARD. REBBETZIN RIFKA DRELICH

We- shluchim have also been affected by the mezzuaha and Tefillin issues and with store owners who ‘ stand behind their products’ after finishing issues with some of them. We heartened by the courageous stand Rabbi Wollf has taken we believe there is now hope. Hope for change.

Whilst we all wish that this could have gone gone another route, sometimes when all resources have been tried we need to take a stand…

No one we believe is malicously doing this c’v. At the very least we have no right to assume the wrong intentions and must be Dan lkaf zechus. Especially as we are talking about frum upright yidden here. But mistakes happen even to the best of us. And yes we can still support these people and organizations when we can verify if it indeed kosher.
Which may now mean that there needs to be HASGACHA and oversight.

A suggestion is maybe that Yeshiva boys Seder should also include learning how to check a mezuzah and when a sofer is needed.
We all need to be more informed, we all need to learn more.

Now let’s do the right thing knowning too we all need to grow . It cannot remain status quo

      Moshiach Now

This sounds like an Orach Chaim question, not Choshen Mishpat.
Take the Mezuzas to outside Magihim and let them rule on the Kashrus.
