What will happen with Tishrei this year?
This was the question being asked by Chassidim around the world following the letter from the Beis Din of Crown Heights asking everyone not to come this year due to health concerns.
In recent months, as the situation in New York began to improve and Israel begins to allow flights out of the country, this raised a possobility that perhaps Chassidim can come to the Rebbe for Tishrei.
In the last few weeks, the director of Eshel Hachnosas Orchim, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hakohen Hendel, was in talks with Dr. Rosen and the Gedaliah Society as for how to host the thousands of Orchim that come every year in a safe way. Baruch Hashem, a plan was agreed upon by Rabbi Hendel and the doctors with the Rabbonim’s approval.
As we reported, last week, the Rabbonim published a letter permitting anyone that has a document saying that they tested positive for the virus at least 10 days before their arrival or has proof of antibodies can come while those who do not cannot come even if they quarantine for 14 days upon their arrival.
The Hachnosas Orchim organization welcomes this development and urges everyone to follow the guidelines issued by the Rabbonim and will be having a regular year of hospitality with lodging, food, Seder Hayeshiva and other programs.
ChabadInfo.com will monitor the situation and keep you posted on any developments.
May we all merit to spend the Yomim Tovim with the Rebbe in Yerusholayim with the Beis Hamikdash Hashlishi.
