    1 – The Aftermath Of Today’s Fire At 755 Eastern Parkway



    Dov Ber Hechtman gave us an inside view on the aftermath of the fire in 755 Eastern Pkwy. in which a fire broke out at the end of the summer at the newly purchased building serving as dormitory for the Kvutzah Bochurim. Article

    2 – Judge Who Presided Over 770 Case Kicked Off Bench



    Judge Harriet Thompson, one of two elected judges serving in Surrogate’s Court in Kings County, has been relieved of her duties and is no longer allowed in nonpublic parts of the Johnson St. courthouse in Downtown Brooklyn, according to a memo from the Office of Court Administration Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence Marks. Judge Thompson is known in Lubavitch circles for ruling last spring in the highly contested 770 case against the gabbaim. Article

    It was with great sadness that we reported on the passing of Hatomim Meir Likhovetski, 19 a Lubavitcher bochur from Toronto who was spending the year on shlichus in Mason, Ohio and was tragically killed Monday evening, 4 Adar II, in a horrific car accident. Article

    It was with great sadness that we reported on the passing of the passing of Rabbi Mendel Plotkin, a young father and member of Toronto’s Chabad community. He passed away on Shabbos, 7 Iyar, after experiencing cardiac complications. He was 43 years old. Article

    7 – Shliach Releases Statement on Eliyah Haliwa



    From Rabbi Yossi Lazaroff of Chabad at Texas A&M: The Rohr Chabad Jewish Student Center at Texas A&M is open to all Jewish faculty and students to explore Judaism. In 2018 a student presenting himself as Eliyah Haliwa began visiting Chabad along with other local campus Jewish institutions (including serving as president at one of them). He would occasionally attend Shabbat meals at Chabad, and infrequently attended the services or Torah classes. Article

    8 – Tefillin Thief Caught



    On 19 Tammuz, a tefillin thief who was walking around 770-Beis Chayeinu, was caught red handed. The policemen regularly stationed near 770 arrested the thief and they took him to the police station. In the shul and beis medrash, a warning notice was posted with a picture of the thief in order to warn Anash and Tmimim to watch their personal items. Article
