ULY Students Craft Shofars at Special School Event

In a unique and engaging preparation for Rosh Hashanah, the students at ULY Crown st. had the opportunity to participate in a hands-on shofar-making workshop. The event not only introduced the students to the Shofar making process, but also served as a fun icebreaker, helping them to connect with their classmates and settle into their school year • Read More, Photos

The school hosted a special “Shofar Factory” day, where students were guided through the intricate process of crafting their own shofars. A professional shofar maker was brought in to lead the workshop, demonstrating each step of its creation.

The workshop began with an explanation of the Shofar’s role in Rosh Hashanah. The students learned about the different types of shofars, including the ram’s horn, and discussed their meanings.

Each student then had the chance to get hands-on experience. They were provided with unfinished shofars and worked on shaping and polishing their individual Shofar. The process was both educational and entertaining, allowing the students to engage creatively while gaining a deeper appreciation for the Mitzvah.
