Porch Pirates Get Creative in Crown Heights – Caught on Camera
Crown Heights residents are being warned to stay alert after two incidents of package theft were caught on camera, showing porch pirates using deceptive tactics to avoid suspicion • Read More, Watch
In the first incident, which took place on Thursday, February 20, at approximately 7:15 PM near Brooklyn Avenue and Carroll Street, a suspect was seen pretending to shovel snow before making off with a package. Just two days later, on Shabbos, February 22, around 5:00 PM, another suspect was recorded at Crown Street and Schenectady Avenue, pretending to drop off packages while stealing others.
Both incidents were captured on surveillance footage and released by Shmira, the neighborhood watch group, as part of their ongoing efforts to combat theft in the community.
Residents are urged to secure their deliveries, remain vigilant, and report any suspicious behavior to Shmira and local authorities.
