A perpetrator was arrested after attacking a Yungerman during a road rage incident on Sunday afternoon in Crown Heights.
The incident took place near Carroll Street and Albany Avenue when the perpetrator drove recklessly and attempted to overtake the victim’s car, ultimately crashing into it.
When the victim stopped and exited his vehicle, the perpetrator charged at him and began to viciously assault him. The perpetrator then falsely claimed that he was attacked by the victim.
Volunteers from Crown Heights Shmira successfully defused the situation and contacted the NYPD. Following a thorough investigation by Shmira and the NYPD, the perpetrator was arrested and charged with assault and reckless driving. Shmira was able to obtain a video that corroborated the victim’s testimony. The video showed the perpetrator crash into the victim’s car, exit his vehicle, and viciously attack the innocent victim.
Additionally, this morning at approximately 10 AM, Shmira received a call about a missing individual with Down Syndrome. While some Shmira volunteers searched the surrounding areas, others checked security camera footage and successfully spotted her boarding the wrong school bus. After identifying the bus, Shmira contacted the school organization and she was reunited a short time later.
