The event began with a warm welcome, followed by the recitation of The Rebbe‘s Kapitel, setting a spiritually uplifting tone for the day. Awards and gifts were then presented to all teachers, staff, and students. Each student received a certificate of completion for their current grade, along with books and gifts to prepare them for the upcoming academic year. These moments of recognition highlighted the collective efforts of the educators, directors, and parents in nurturing and inspiring the young minds and hearts.

In his opening address, Rabbi Schnederman, the co-founder and director of OYYL, emphasized the yeshiva’s core mission of raising a “Mentch.” He articulated the essential values that encompass this mission, stressing the importance of instilling Ahavas Hashem, Ahavas Yisroel, and Ahavas Hatorah in the students.

Mrs. Mila Schneiderman, also a co-founder and director, reflected on the significance of concluding the academic year as a time for reflection and envisioning a better future and how fortunate it is that OYYL’s school calendar year is designed to mirror the traditional calendar year of old chadorim where the learning begins at the start of Elul and concludes at the end of Tamuz, offering students a rhythmic and immersive Yeshiva experience. This schedule includes only 3-4 weeks of Bein Hazmanim, ensuring a focused and continuous period of study.

Leah Goldshtein, a parent and long-time educator at OYYL, expressed her deep sense of privilege in working at the Rebbe’s Moissad and how she sees the blessings coming in a way of “Lechatchila Ariber”.

Sophia Azulay, the office manager and fellow parent, shared heartfelt words of gratitude for the education her son receives at OYYL.

The event also featured a lively rally with the recitation of the 12 Pesukim and a raffle with exciting prizes, adding a layer of fun to the celebrations. To enhance the communal experience, a Farm Petting Zoo from Monroe, NY was brought in, aligning with the theme of OYYL’s summer program, “Journey Back to Lubavitch.” This program engages students in weekly studies about the Rabbeim and their Chassidim, Farbrengens, and traditional craftsmen of shtetl life, aiming to give children a taste of historical Lubavitch life and how it shaped the Lubavitch movement.

Overall, the graduation event was a heartwarming occasion that reinforced the yeshiva’s commitment to Chinuch Al Taharas Hakodesh, educating students in the spirit of sacred education based on the vision of the Chabad Rabbeim. It was a day of celebration, reflection, and envisioning a bright future for the next generation.
