In a recent letter to the community, the institution outlined the appointment of Rabbi Yehoshua Lustig to the role of Menahel K’lali. Rabbi Lustig, who brings over 15 years of chinuch experience, will integrate the efforts of chinuch and administrative teams to advance the institution’s goals. The letter also highlights new appointments within the Cheder Menahalim, including Rabbi Berel Greenfeld as Menahel of Pre1a, Rabbi Eli Simpson as Menahel of Grades 6 and 7, and Rabbi Shmuly Friedman as an additional S’gan Menahel.”As we approach the new school year, I’d like to update you on some exciting developments at Oholei Torah. Over the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of working with our dedicated Menahalim and witnessing incredible progress across all our divisions. Our goal is to provide each child with the highest standard of chinuch, from preschool through Beis Medrash.
In my role as Menahel Roshi, I lead and support our Menahalim, aligning the focus, values, and experience of our Talmidim throughout our divisions בעזהי”ת. I also serve as Rosh Moised, setting the vision, priorities, and assuming ultimate responsibility for the day-to-day operations and success of the institution, ensuring that we fulfill our mission and faithfully uphold our core values and the mandate given to us by the Rebbe1.
As we strive for continued excellence, we’ve recognized the value of expanding our leadership structure to better serve our students and their families. Oholei Torah is a large and dynamic institution, encompassing ten chinuch divisions2, with an additional five supporting chinuch departments3, alongside a robust logistics operations department, expansive administrative offices, and a critical team dedicated to institutional development4.
Rabbi Yehoshua Lustig, with his 15+ years of chinuch experience, will step into the pivotal role of Menahel K’lali and integrator of our leadership team. Rabbi Lustig will focus on uniting our key departments, ensuring that our chinuch and administrative functions work seamlessly together, pushing forward in unison to reach our vision and goals.
Rabbi Lustig will maintain his focus on chinuch, participating in principal team meetings and enhancing the chinuch experience, while expanding his responsibilities to include the integration and coordination of our leadership team (Chinuch, Operations, Admin & Development). His extensive chinuch experience and dedication make him ideal for this expanded role, integrating our educational efforts with our administrative and operational needs, all with the one goal in mind: טובת התלמידים – the benefit of our students.

In addition to these leadership updates, we are improving the structure of the Cheder Menahalim for the coming year:
- Rabbi Berel Greenfeld will be the Menahel of Pre1a and the Menhael Chinuchi of our Cheder division, overseeing the chinuch, supervision, and experience of the Talmidim during their bus rides to and from school. With over 10 years of chinuch experience, Rabbi Greenfeld is well-suited to lead this division and strengthen the growth and development of our young Talmidim, focusing on building strong Keriah skills, Middos Tovos, and Yiras Shomayim.
- Rabbi Shimshoni will continue to lead grades 1 and 2, bringing renewed energy and focus to help the Talmidim realize their potential during these formative years.
- Rabbi Evers will continue as Menahel of grades 3, 4, and 5.
We are pleased to announce that Rabbi Shmuly Friedman will be joining as an additional S’gan Menahel. Rabbi Friedman brings a wealth of Chinuch experience in inspiring, motivating, and intuitively supporting Talmidim, guiding them through challenges and helping them grow in their Chassidishkeit and Yiddishkeit. - Rabbi Eli Simpson will be the new Menahel and leader of Grades 6 and 7. With his extensive experience in chinuch, Rabbi Simpson has served as a highly regarded Maggid Shiur, instilling a love for learning and skill-building in his Talmidim. He also brings significant experience in leading teams of Mechanchim with his background in running large summer programs. (Currently, Rabbi Lustig will continue to lead the process of setting up the classes, faculty, and schedule for grades 6 and 7, ensuring a smooth transition into the new structure, which will take full effect in the new year). As we implement these changes, we are confident that, with Hashem’s help and the Rebbe’s B’rachos, these shifts will build upon our successes and enhance the educational experience for all our Talmidim.Thank you for your ongoing support. Together, we will continue to strengthen Oholei Torah.”
