A violent perpetrator wanted for crashing into multiple vehicles & pedestrians, all the while in possession of a loaded hand gun was arrested.
At approximately 2:25pm Friday afternoon, Shmira received multiple hotline calls from witnesses observing the perpetrator crash into cars and drive on the sidewalk near President St and Troy Ave.
As the perpetrator noticed the Shmira volunteers arriving at the scene, he abandoned his vehicle and began to flee on Eastern Parkway towards Schenectady Ave. Fortunately, as the perpetrator was running, he dropped a fully loaded firearm which was immediately secured by a Shmira member and the suspect was immediately apprehended.
After 911 was called, police arrived shortly and placed him under arrest.
