A Jewish man was attacked Wednesday morning while walking on the street in Crown Heights.
The Lubavitch man, 49 years old, a resident of Crown Heights, was walking on Lefferts Avenue near Albany Avenue at about 6 am. The assailant slapped his cell phone out of his hands, which the victim was using to read prayers from. Following that, the assailant punched him in the face while yelling “I am tired of Jews.”
NYPD quickly arrested the individual, who they said is a 46 year old local resident.
Hatzalah treated the victim, of his minor injury, at the scene. He B”H did not require further medical attention.
This incident is being treated by the NYPD as a possible bias incident.
