A Jewish man was attacked and robbed in a disturbing incident in Crown Heights, Thursday night. The victim was wearing traditional Jewish garb.
The incident occurred Thursday evening near Eastern Parkway and Albany Ave at approximately 7:30PM. The perpetrator snuck behind the victim and viciously attacked him, repeatedly punching him in the head and face, causing injuries. The perpetrator then stole the victim’s cell phone. After assaulting and robbing the victim, the perpetrator called the victim a [expletive] dirty Jew and fled the scene.
Crown Heights Shmira and the NYPD searched extensively for the perpetrator but he had already fled the area.
The incident is under investigation as a hate crime robbery with the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force handling the investigation. Crown Heights Shmira is actively assisting the NYPD in this investigation and was able to track the perpetrator via video until he fled into the subway.

The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
