A resident who lives on the block described the scene:
“If I’m not dreaming, there was a shooting just now right outside by us! I grabbed my kids and ran inside! My neighbor ran into our apartment for safety. Lots of people are running.”
Students from Beis Rivkah were seen crossing near Brooklyn Avenue at the time of the incident on their way home from school. According to the witness, the shots sounded to be in their direction, prompting the students to flee. “Boruch Hashem, it seems they are fine,” the resident added.
In photos from the scene, an officer can be seen collecting shell casings and other evidence.
