The terrifying incident took place near Crown Street and Kingston Avenue at approximately midnight. The two perpetrators approached the victims’ vehicle from behind, displayed a firearm, and demanded that the victims exit the car while leaving their phones and keys inside. The victims complied and the perpetrators then fled the scene with the vehicle.
The victims contacted Crown Heights Shmira and 911 as soon as it was safe to do so.
The coordinated effort between Shmira and the NYPD resulted in the vehicle being located unattended in a nearby area, where evidence was collected.
The police department is actively investigating the carjacking, with assistance from Crown Heights Shmira.
