Two Jewish men were assaulted and injured during an attempted stabbing incident on Shabbos afternoon in Crown Heights. The attack occurred around 12:30 PM near Union St and Albany Ave when the perpetrator, unprovoked, suddenly approached a victim and atte
mpted to stab him in the neck with a sharp object. Miraculously, the victim avoided serious injury. The attacker then shoved the 2nd victim to the ground, causing injuries, before threatening other bystanders.
The victims appeared to be targeted because they were Jewish as the perpetrator passed a non-Jewish person to reach the Jewish victims.
A witness immediately called Crown Heights Shmira, whose volunteers arrived swiftly and detained the perpetrator until the NYPD arrived and placed him under arrest.
Both victims were treated for their injuries by Hatzalah.
