Traditional chasidic and kabbalistic values actually discourage the eating of meat for anyone who is not on the level to appropriately elevate the meat, as it is difficult to elevate spiritually and a person can be brought down by eating meat. In fact chazal say and is quoted in Chasidus that am ho’oretz ossur le’echol bossor, simply meaning that a person who doesn’t utilise the energy of the meat for the constant service of Hashem in fact is PROHIBITED from eating meat.
