In honor of Chof Menachem Av, the yahrzeit of the Rebbe’s saintly father, the Mekubal and Chassid, Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, of blessed memory, we are pleased to share a remarkable opportunity to delve into the Rebbe’s teachings.
For five consecutive years, 5747, 5748, 5749, 5750, and 5751 (1987–1991), the Rebbe personally edited and published a Maamar Chassidus (Chassidic discourse) in honor of Chof Av. These rare and deeply profound Maamarim, known as Mugah Maamarim (personally edited by the Rebbe), offer a glimpse into the deep spiritual legacy of Rabbi Levi Yitzchok and the unique connection the Rebbe had with his father.
These Maamarim have now been made accessible to the English-speaking world in a series of five clear and inspiring video classes, presented by Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz, the Rebbe’s Shliach in Southwest Florida.
A Timeless Message from the Rebbe
The Rebbe emphasized that by studying the Torah of his father, we draw down divine blessings and protection. Specifically, the Rebbe taught that those who immerse themselves in the teachings of Rabbi Levi Yitzchok will be spared from tests and trials, and instead be granted a life of goodness, blessing, and inner peace.
As the Rebbe said:
“The spiritual refinement and elevation accomplished by righteous individuals especially through their self-sacrifice extends also to their descendants and to their students who study their Torah. Therefore, they no longer require further tests or hardships. Instead, they will fulfill ‘our deeds and our service’ in true peace and abundance, with joy and a full heart. And may the promise be fulfilled And those who lie in the dust will awaken and rejoice,’ with the Rebbe’s father among them. And we will all go upright, together, to our Holy Land with the coming of Moshiach Tzidkeinu speedily, in our time.” – From the Maamar V’haya Eikev Tishma’un, 5727 (1967)
