With great sorrow, we inform you of the sudden passing of Rabbi Yisroel Uziel (Irwin) Turen, OB”M, of Chicago, IL. Rabbi Turen passed away this morning, the 10th of Elul. He was 90 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Chaya and children: Rabbi Eli Turen – Chicago, IL; Zev Turen – Boca Raton, FL and Tzachi Turen – Yerushalayim, ER”Y; and many grandchildren.
The family will be sitting Shivah in Eretz Yisroel through Sunday and will be returning to Chicago on Monday morning for the remainder of Shivah. In Chicago the family will be sitting Shiva at 6800 N. California Ave. #2N.
The funeral will take place at 9:00 PM this evening, Tuesday, at Chicago Jewish Funerals – 8851 Skokie Blvd in Skokie. The burial will be in Eretz Yisroel.
May we merit to see the complete redemption, where Rabbi Yisroel Uziel Turen will be reunited with his family and the rest of Klal Yisroel.
