Yesterday, Sunday afternoon, a delegation of Lubavitchers came from Crown Heights to pay a Shiva visit to the family of the Rebbe of Skulen, Rabbi Yisroel Avrohom Portugal, OB”M, who passed away on Monday.
Horav Yosef Yeshaya Braun ,member of the Badatz of Crown Heights, and Rabbi Leibel Groner, the Rebbe’s Mazkir, led the delegation.
In addition, Rabbi Chanina Sperlin of the CHJCC; community activist Reb Eli Slavin and the secretary for the Crown Heights Beis Din, Rabbi Shmuel Kraus, took part in the Shiva visit.
During the visit, the sons of the Skulen Rebbe spoke about the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s efforts to save the lives of their father and grandfather after they were imprisoned by Romania’s Communist authorities on trumped-up charges of spying.
