With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Yehoshua Wilansky, OB”M, a long time resident of Crown Heights. He passed away on Shabbos morning, 20 Shevat. He was 87-years-old.
An only child, Rabbi Wilansky was born in Brooklyn, NY. After losing his father at a young age, his mother enrolled him as one of the first students of Tomchei Temimim in Crown Heights.
He is survived by his children, Rabbi Yossi Wilansky – Montreal, Canada; Rabbi Dovid Wilansky – Elizabeth, NJ; Rabbi Moshe Wilansky – Portland, Maine; Rabbi Chaim Wilansky – Crown Heights; Toby Halon – Crown Heights; and grandchildren and great grandchildren, many of them Shluchim of the Rebbe.
The Levaya will pass by 770 at around 11:00, sunday morning.
