    With great sadness we regret to inform you of the passing of Rabbi Sholom Eidelman, OB”M, devoted Shliach to Casablanca, Morocco. He passed away on the second day of Pessach, the 16th of Nissan. He was 83-years-old.

    He has reportedly passed away after contracting the Coronavirus.

    Rabbi Eidelman was born in Russia. At the age of nine, he escaped with his parents from Russia through Poland to France.

    In 5719, before his marriage, the Rebbe appointed Rabbi Eidelman as the Shliach to Morocco. He left to Morocco a few days after his wedding to his wife Gittel (nee Gurkov), on Zos Chanukah of that year.

    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gittel Eidelman; and children, Rabbi Shneur Zalman Eidelman – Vienna, Austria; Rabbi Yoel Eidelman – Brunoy, France; Rabbi Menachem Mendel Eidelman – Crown Heights; Rabbi Eliezer Eidelman – Manchester, England; Rabbi Shmuel Eidelman – Crown Heights; Mrs. Toiba Rivka Belinow – Paris, France; and Mrs. Chana Gurevitch – Chicago, IL; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    He is also survived by his sister, Assya Pevsner of France. (The family has requested not to notify her)

    He was predeceased by his son, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Eidelman, OB”M, of Eretz Yisroel.
