We are deeply saddened to report on the passing of Rabbi Saadia Dahan, OBM, a veteran Shliach and Mechanech in Eretz Yisroel, and resident of Crown Heights for 2 decades. He passed away on Thursday, 3 Kislev, 5784.
He was 80.
Born in Morocco, he learned in Chabad institutions there, he studied alongside Rabbi Elazar Abuchatzera, famously known as the Baba Elazar, among others.
He became a Lubavitcher while studying in Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim in Casablanca. After his marriage to Chasiba, he settled in settled in Moshav Brosh, and served as a Mechanech.
After several years in Brosh, he moved to Nachalas Har Chabad, where he joined the educational staff at the vocational school, guiding and training many students.
He would make frequent trips to the Rebbe and would bring one of his children each time.
In the year 5750, with the Rebbe’s blessing, he and his family moved to Crown Heights. His house was open to many guests on Shabbos and Yom Tov.
After twenty years, they returned to Nachlas Har Chabad in Eretz Yisroel.
He is survived by his wife Chassiba and children: Rabbi Menachem Mendel Dahan – Crown Heights; Mrs. Devorah Leah Naki – Herzliya; Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Dahan – Crown Heights; Rabbi Shmuel Dahan – Netanya; Mrs. Nechama Dina Ezagui – Crown Heights; Rabbi Shalom Dovber Dahan – Montreal; Rabbi Shneor Zalman Dahan – Nachalas Har Chabad; and Rabbi Shaul Dahan – Miami, Florida. And many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
