With great sadness we report the sudden passing of Rabbi Mordechai Shmuel Ashkenazi, the Chief Rabbi of Kfar Chabad, at the age of 71.
Rabbi Ashkenazi suffered a heart attack on the road, travelling to Tveria to his father’s resting place, Rabbi Moshe Ashkenazi OBM, whose Yohrtzeit is today, the 23rd of Teves.
He is survived by his wife Rebbetzin Sima;
His sons: Rabbi Meir – Tzfas, Rabbi Chaim Eliezer – Montreal, Canada, Rabbi Zelig – Yekaterinburg, Russia, Rabbi Menachem Mendel – Kfar Chabad, Rabbi Schneur Zalman – Rishon L’tzion, Rabbi Sholom Ber – Netanya, Rabbi Yosef – Nachlas Har Chabad, Rabbi Yisroel – Chulon and Rabbi Yehuda Leib.
His daughters: Mrs. Gitta Brod – Karme Yosef; Mrs. Rivka Kaplan – Village of Satriya and Mrs. Chaya Wilhelm – Oak Park, Michigan.

May it be Hashem’s will that we will soon realize the prophesy of, “Wake up and sing for joy, dwellers of the dust!”
