We are deeply saddened to report on the passing of R’ Leib Skoblo, OBM, a Crown Heights father and activist, who led Shmira and founded Chaveirim. He passed away suddenly on Monday, 15 Cheshvan 5784.
He was 47.
R’ Leib was a dedicated member of the Crown Heights Shmira for over 30 years. He served as a liaison to the NYPD for the community, working tirelessly to ensure the safety of Crown Heights.
Leib was a monumental pillar of strength and Chesed for the Crown Heights community.
He also founded Chaveirim of Crown Heights, providing roadside assistance and other non-medical emergency help at home or on the road.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Malka and children, Mera Friend, Shaya, Tzviki, Arele, Zalman, and Gisa.
He is also survived by his parents, Yitzchak and Ella Skoblo and siblings Zalman Skoblo, Hersh Skoblo, Fraida Boas, Gutman Skoblo and Rochie Levy.
