We are deeply saddened to report on the passing of Mrs. Ruchie Stillman of Tarzana, CA, who served as the Shlucha at UCLA for four decades. She passed away on Shabbos, 29 Iyar, 5783.
She was 75.
Mrs. Ruchie Stillman was born to her parents Rabbi Chaim Meir and Esther Bukiet. After her marriage to Rabbi Yerachmiel Stillman the couple moved on shlichus to Los Angeles, California where they directed the Jewish Student Center at UCLA for four decades.
For many years, she was the co-producer of the Chabad Telethon. For many years, she taught Sefer Rus at the Bais Chana Chabad High School and was a guidance counselor at Cheder Menachem.
She is survived by her daughter Shaina Friedman of Calabasas, California and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Rabbi Yerachmiel Stillman in 5781, and her brother by Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Bukiet
She is also survived by her siblings Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Bukiet – Los Angeles, CA; Rabbi Levi Bukiet – Chicago, IL; Mrs. Chaya Bukiet – Crown Heights; Rabbi Alter Fishel Bukiet – Boston, MA; Mrs. Sarah Tzirel Kramer – Montreal, Canada; and Rabbi Shneur Zalman Bukiet – Miami, FL.
The Levaya will be held on Sunday, 4:00 PM at Mount Olive Cemetery, 7232 East Slauson Ave, Commerce, CA 90040.
