With great sadness we inform of the passing of Mrs. Leba Chana (Eloise) Lubin, OB”M, a longtime pillar of the Anash Community in Chicago. She passed away on Tuesday, Chof Alef Cheshvan following an illness.

After moving to Chicago in 1975, the Lubins became active in the fledgling Lubavitch Community in Chicago, where they developed close relationships with Rabbi and Rebbetzin Shlomo Zalman Hecht, Rabbi and Rebbetzin Hershel Shusterman, and Rabbi and Rebbetzin Yehoshua Goodman, of blessed memories. They were from the earliest parents to send their children to Cheder Lubavitch in Chicago in 1980.

Mrs. Lubin was active in many initiatives of Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois, including Nshei Chabad of Illinois , Shifra and Puah, Dial a Jewish Story, and many Chessed projects.

The Lubins have been longtime pillars of Cong. B’nei Ruven, and have single-handedly maintained Cong. Anshei Lubavitch of Chicago, one of the oldest active Lubavitch Shuls in the United States.

An interior designer by profession with an incredible artistic style and eye for detail, Mrs. Lubin was instrumental in designing many Shuls, Chabad houses, Mikvahs and homes in Chicago and beyond.

She was a very proud, devoted and beloved mother and grandmother,

She is survived by her husband Dr. Avrohom (Arthur) Lubin and children: Rabbi Shalom Lubin – Parsippany, NJ; Mrs. Sarah Rayzel Wagner – Morristown, NJ; Mrs. Dena Walters – Chicago,IL; Rabbi Mendy Lubin – Florham Park, NJ; Mrs. Chaya Schurder – Chicago, IL; Mrs. Rachel Drizin – Brooklyn,NY; and K”ah many grandchildren.

The Levaya will take place on Wednesday in Chicago.
