With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Rebbetzin Chana Rochel Horowitz, OB”M, of Yerushalayim She was the wife of Rabbi Pinchas Horowitz, OB”M, and daughter of Rabbi Sholom Lishner, HY”D.
Rebbetzin Horowitz, a Holocaust survivor, spent her childhood in exile in Siberia and Samarkand, where her father was killed while imprisoned for not desecrating Shabbos and not informing on a fellow Jew.
Rebbetzin Horowitz is survived by – yibodlu l’chaim tovim – her children R’ Mordechai Yehoshua (Yerushalayim), R’ Sholom (Crown Heights), R’ Moshe (Beitar), R’ Dovid (Lod), R’ Yaakov Noach (Bnei Brak), R’ Shlomo Leib (Yerushalayim), R’ Yisroel Zushe (Elad/Ramot), R’ Tzvi (Yerushalayim), R’ Avraham Yitzchok (Yerushalayim), R’ Reuvan and R’ Shmuel (Beitar), and sons in law R’ Tzvi Greenbaum (Yerushalayim) and R’ Yair Mendlowitz (Beitar).
Many of her grandchildren serve as Shluchim in The Rebbe’s Army, in the US, Russia and Ukraine.
The levaye will leave the Shamgar Funeral Home today, Monday, at 4:30 PM, continuing on to Har Hazeisim for burial.
