Tzvi Hirsch, of blessed memory, was a graduate of the Chabad Jewish Day School in Odessa. He grew up and was educated within the local Jewish community, and his personal and family life remained deeply connected to communal activities throughout the years.
Rabbi Avraham Wolff, Chief Rabbi of Odessa and Southern Ukraine, said:
“Tzvi Hirsch was everyone’s child — a student in our school, a member of our community, and a soldier who physically defended his homeland. He embodied a blend of Jewish sensitivity and extraordinary courage.
Our hearts are with his family — his wife Anastasia, his children Lev and Alisa, his mother Yevgenia Yitzchakovna, and his sisters. We will always remember him with love and pain. May his soul be bound in the bond of life.”
The entire community is in mourning, praying for the elevation of his soul, and embracing his family during this painful time.
Funeral details will be announced shortly.
May it be G-d’s will that the prophecy be fulfilled speedily in our days: “Those who lie in the dust will awaken and sing” — and he among them.
