The Crown Heights community gathered on Sunday for the dedication of its new Seminary building, in honor of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin, marking another milestone in the continued growth of the institution and its mission of educating Jewish girls.
The Seminary began in 1960 with just ten students. Today, 226 girls are enrolled in the Seminary, while nearly 3,000 students learn across Bais Rivkah’s six departments. Its alumnae have gone on to serve as Shluchos, educators and community leaders in more than 3,180 cities and college campuses worldwide.
The new building was dedicated by R’ Yosef and Chana Malka Gorowitz and the Gorowitz family, in honor of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin and in honor of Mrs. Chana Gorowitz, the longtime Dean of the Seminary. Dovid Fischer was honored with affixing the Mezuzah, while Rabbi Yossi Friedman represented the family at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The program included remarks from Bais Rivkah leadership and community Rabbonim, followed by a tour of the new facilities. The lobby was dedicated in memory of Mrs. Fruma Junik, a devoted supporter of the Rebbe’s work and a past president of N’shei Chabad.
The dedication marks a new chapter in Bais Rivkah’s ongoing expansion, providing a new home for the next generation of young women who will carry forward the Rebbe’s vision for Jewish women’s education.
