Har HaZeisim: Yahrtzeit Marked for Chief Rabbi of Moldova

On 29 Sivan, family members, Shluchim, Talmidim, and members of the Jewish community gathered at Har HaZeisim to mark the yahrtzeit of Rabbi Zalman Tuvia HaKohen Abelsky A”H, the Rebbe’s Shliach to Kishinev and Moldova and Chief Rabbi of Moldova and its capital, Kishinev.
The gathering was organized by his grandson, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Zalmanov. Participants included family members, representatives of the Jewish community of Kishinev, former students, associates, and close friends who came from across Eretz Yisroel and abroad.
At the Chabad section of Har HaZeisim, they said Tehillim, said Kaddish, and reflected on Rabbi Abelsky’s lifelong dedication to strengthening Jewish life throughout Moldova, Romania, and beyond. Participants also spoke of his unwavering Hiskashrus to the Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach and his decades of devoted Shlichus.
During Farbrengens held in connection with the yahrtzeit, participants shared memories of Rabbi Abelsky’s impact and accepted good resolutions in his memory, with special emphasis on strengthening activities connected to preparing for the coming of Moshiach.
