This past Motzei Shabbos, Parshas Shemini, a unique and uplifting Pesach seminar came to a close in Haditch, at the Ohel of the Alter Rebbe, Baal HaTanya and Shulchan Aruch. The ten-day program brought together 95 Jews from remote towns and villages across eastern Ukraine.

Participants arrived from cities including Mirgorod, Piryatin, Lokhvitsa, Priluki, Zinkov, and Haditch itself—places where Jewish life is virtually nonexistent throughout the year. For many, the seminar served as a true spiritual oasis.

Throughout Yom Tov, participants davened in a minyan, attended Torah classes, and experienced a full, authentic Pesach. They stayed in spacious accommodations and were provided with three full meals daily. Rabbi Deitch noted that perhaps the greatest accomplishment was that every participant kept Pesach properly, eating only matzah and mehadrin kosher food throughout the entire Yom Tov, something that could have a lasting impact on their connection to Yiddishkeit.

The effort extended beyond those who attended. Public Sedarim were arranged in the surrounding towns for those unable to travel, reaching an additional 210 Jews. Fully prepared Pesach meals, along with matzah, wine, and other essentials, were delivered in advance to ensure they too could celebrate the Yom Tov properly.

Rabbi Deitch expressed deep gratitude to all those who assisted in making the program possible, adding that the merit of the Alter Rebbe undoubtedly played a role in the success of the entire initiative.
