During the brutal cold and in the aftermath of a heavy snowfall, Zalman Friedman, a dedicated member of the Vaad Hakohol, together with community volunteers, took the initiative to clear snow and ice from key street corners throughout Crown Heights.

Thanks to their efforts, all street corners from Eastern Parkway to Lefferts Avenue, and from Troy Avenue to New York Avenue, were cleared, creating safe and accessible pathways for pedestrians.

The work focused especially on high-traffic intersections, significantly improving safety for seniors, parents with strollers, children, and individuals with mobility challenges.

The Vaad Hakohol expressed appreciation to Mr. Zalman Friedman and the volunteers who assisted, noting that this hands-on response during extreme weather reflects the community’s sense of responsibility and care for one another.
