“How are the cows in Postville?” Most people ask that question not realizing that you don’t really see cows in Postville – they go straight to the Shlacht house!
Yet the bochurim were able to go to a dairy farm about a half hour outside of Postville to learn about milking and were able to touch and feel the animals.
The bochurim asked many questions and learned about the actual production of milk, different methods of milking parlor milking robotic milking and the like, and about the different types of food the animals eat.
Later on in yeshiva a shiur was given about the halachos of Cholov Yisroel.
