“Since you have not listened to the court order to remove yourselves from the premises, I hereby inform you that the evacuation is scheduled for December 21, 2017 from 8:00 onward.” wrote the judge in a missive, the Chabad Yeshiva in Tzfas received last week.
After years of fighting a custody battle over the rights to the massive Yeshiva building, the largest Chabad Yeshiva Gedola in the world, an ultimatum was published. The court ruled against the yeshiva, ordering that the 400 Bochurim currently studying in the building must leave immediately.
ChabadInfo.com was informed of the good news that with Hashem’s help, a way was found for the Yeshiva to remain in the building.
The Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Wilschanski, informed the Hanhalah of the Yeshiva that after all the money spent in the past years to be able to stay in the building, due to the eviction notice, a few close friends of the Yeshiva have recently got involved. With a lot of pressure, they came to an agreement to save the Yeshiva from its predicament.
The one-time opportunity would allow the Yeshiva to buy the property for a large sum of money. However the clincher is, that this has to be done within the next 30 days.
Rabbi Wilschanski asked all of the Hanhalah to help with reaching out to ask others to contribute to the cause. He added that for the next 30 days this will be his sole focus, 24 hours a day. The continuation and future of the Yeshiva is dependent on this!
